Television Reviews: LG 55LE8500
Monday, June 21st, 2010This is a television review for the LG 55LE8500. Although this is really not the thinnest model of the LG LCD television sets, and does not have the ultra slim 8.9 mm specifications but it overcomes this short coming with some great features like local dimming and wireless HD input capability.
This TV model has excellent picture fluidity and a refresh rate of 240 Hz and hence provides with great clear images. This technology provides with a huge cut in the image blur but it also causes the picture to have certain drawbacks and bad effects because it hence causes some defects in the image like the almost jutting out backdrop of the scene due to its capability of altering the picture depth of the scene and hence it changes the look of the picture being viewed. This set is THX certified and provides connectivity to the LG netcast service in special areas which provides with features like connectivity to Netscape, Youtube and Napster.
There are three AV modes which are available in the television set which provides with pre set modes of picture and sound for the three standard modes of cinema, sport and gaming. There is amazingly clear sound and it has almost invisible speakers present on the side of the body yet it still manages to provide with clear and exceptional sound. There are also features which are present on the LG 55LE8500 like the picture wizard which provides with a reference for the important elements of the image like the black and white levels along with the color tint and sharpness along both the axes.
Furthermore for the people who want to use a high quality HD input then this television allows you to use wireless media box which can be used to take in excellent HD sources of 1080p which entails that you can attach all kinds of entertainment instruments from a distance from the actual television set.
Further more there are additional facilities like the 2 USB Ports and an option of broad band ready set up. This 55 inch model of the LE8500 series can cost anywhere up to $ 3,499 depending on from where you buy your television set from. You can find more television reviews online or in the May 2010 edition of Consumer reports.
