Pioneer Debuts 3D Capable, HDMI 1.4 Compatible Entry Level Receivers

Monday, March 1st, 2010
Usually an entry level receiver sacrifices something big, especially in the sub $300 range. Pioneer’s new entry levels though, are incredibly capable for the price. Pioneer’s new receiver line won’t rank high on the list of receivers for audiophiles. It doesn’t have all the bells and whistles and it’s not going to blow any minds. For the price range it’s in though, they’re pretty beefy receivers. Read more... Is a Home Theater For You?

Friday, February 5th, 2010

You can experience theater like quality right in your living room but you need to a learn a few things. All you need a a screen, receiver, and surround sound speakers.

The new Audio-Visual receivers combine both a high quality DVD player and the receiver into one piece on handy equipment allowing you to get both a clear picture and a great surround sound. In order for you to get the same effect at home you are going to have to add a receiver to your home theater system as this receiver takes the surround sound signals and breaks it up sending it to the speakers that it should go to.

As most people know, one of the things that makes watching a movie in a theater such a great experience is that the action is life size because of the big screen the movie is shown on.The bigger the screen, the bigger the action. So you you should try to get a big screen for your home. In order to view a film you need a projector. You don’t actually need a projector but you will need a Blu-Ray player. Now you are all set to watch your movie as if you were in a theater.

Now you need a good sound system so you can hear the movie.Movie theater sound great because of the number of speakers and their placement.Theaters don’t just have one or two speakers for you to hear the movie though they start with three speakers near the screen itself. One on the left, one on the right and one in the middle of the screen.Additional speakers are also added down the sides of the theater all the way to the back. Handily enough this use of multiple speakers used in this way is called surround sound. Now you are getting close to that theater experience but the sound is not quite right.Movie theaters not only surround you in sound but different speakers are used to give you different sounds. One speaker may be wind while another may be a persons voice. You should try and get at least 6 speakers for your home theater. You’ll want 3 in front, 1 on each side, and 1 in back.

Home theaters can be expensive but are a must for anyone who wants a great entertainment experience in their living room.If you think you’re ready for a home theater then take a look at some resources online or visit your local electronics store.

Home theater designs Are Many And Always Changing

Saturday, August 15th, 2009

Home theater designs are many and it is more than evident in the number of new systems hitting the market. The great demand for home theater systems has manufacturers falling over themselves while offering new products that span a wide section of home theater designs including wired and wireless systems. The onward march of technology does not seem to brook any interference so that there are plenty of innovative products becoming available today that are converting the homes into dens of high entertainment.

No Longer The Preserve Of Only Hollywood Stars

Home theaters have moved from being the preserve of Hollywood stars and are now so affordable that the common man can also have them in their homes. And, you can pick the home theater design that best suits your needs, and which fits in with your budget as well. You will find great excitement designing your own home theater that can include everything from budget systems to high-end systems complete with state-of-the-art features containing projectors, receivers as well as everything else you desire.

Home theater designs provide you with the opportunity to make a system that falls within your budget and which gives expression to your imagination, and there is almost no limit to what you can come up with. With technological advances, what’s new today can, in a few short months, turn obsolete. This means that you can pick up components at rock bottom prices that are not all that old and thus make your home theater design options not only more affordable, but also gets you a bigger bang for your money.

The best thing about different home theater designs is that you can select a particular brand and shop around for recently superseded models, which are then available at very low prices. In addition, you will also need to decide on a number of factors to incorporate in your home theater design such as the optimum screen size, the viewing distance, as also consider the Society of Motion Pictures and Television Engineers (SMPTE) recommendations regarding the screen size of your home theater that should have a thirty degree field of view.

You will also need to overcome the vision system limitations, which may be more than just the optimum distance for viewing, and relates instead to the maximum distance for viewing beyond which you will not be able to get the proper picture detail. And, you will also need to incorporate into your home theater design the optimum viewing position, which is to have your eyes at the level that falls to the center of the screen.
