Inspiring Thoughts About Blue Ray

New storage formats: DVD-HD and Blue-Ray

On the very first glance, DVDs have just finished becoming common and are the very best alternative available. But developers don’t agree, trying to invent new needs for poor users.

If you appreciate watching movies and listening to music, you likely know that beneficial good quality audio and sound can make all the distinction from the world.

Fortunately, developers of DVD have mastered so-called “blue” laser, which wavelength is only 405nm. This new technological innovation would permit to shop up to 200 GB of data on a multi-layered disk.

The fantastic point about shopping on-line is that you possibly can compare costs on items very easily and you are able to generally find free of charge shipping offers to take advantage of as well. Let’s take a appear at a few of the various capabilities that this blue ray disc player provides.

Unfortunately, the new formats war has sparked even ahead of the end on the development of actual devices, with a similar old players about the field: Sony and Philips with Blue Ray regular and Toshiba, NEC and Sanyo with HD-DVD format.

Enhanced audio formats are supported. These contain dts-HD Master Audio and Dolby TrueHD.

Plays Blue ray motion pictures in 1080p HD. You can’t get better than that.

HD-DVD

HD-DVD (High Definition DVD), as clearly visible from its name, is official heir for the DVD format, approved by DVD Forum. This format is 100% compatible with both CD and DVD, not only from home user perspective but also on manufacturing level. Manufacturing HD-DVD won’t require massive investments in new equipment, and this was the reason why such big companies as Intel and Microsoft decided to support it. Microsoft, for example, promised entire assistance of HD-DVD in its new Windows Vista that must be released next year.

One single layer of HD-DVD disk has the same thickness as DVD layer (0.6mm) and can include up to15 GB of data. This implies that HD-DVD won’t have any troubles supporting dual-layered and double-sided disks, besides; Toshiba announced the development of triple-layer HD-DVD, in which one particular side of the disk would include 45GB. The theoretical capacity limit for HD-DVD is, therefore, 90GB.

Your standard DVDs will truly look improved when played on this machine.

Along with MPEG-2, compression technologies such as MPEG-4 and Video Codec 1 (VC1, format based on Windows Media 9) will almost certainly be used. HD-DVD Video disk swill have much more superior capabilities for interactivity than DVD-Videodisks. For example, it would be probable to play numerous several movie clips in picture-in-picture mode, and it also will be feasible to connect more than a person remote control towards HD-DVD player in order to play videogames together. Internet access will also be included in all HD-DVD devices, so it can be achievable to follow web-links straight from disk menu or to download new soundtrack or subtitles from the net. And these are only handful of of new features.

Internet connectivity is also demanded by the new encryption for HD-DVD and Blue Ray disks – AACS (Advanced Access Content System). If the disk appears to become counterfeit, the playing device are going to be locked. It is not clear, however, what to accomplish in countries where Internet isn’t accessible in each household. Alternatively, it could turn out to be frequent only in distant future, when Internet are going to be obtainable even in African deserts.

Despite stricter copy protection, manufacturers most most likely is not going to add regional codes to HD-DVD as it supplies more troubles than benefits, and although movie production corporations still insist on keeping regional protection, most of DVD-Forum officials are against it.

You can instantly stream on the net media from any from the leading providers on-line including web movie giant Netflix. All you have to perform is connect the blue ray player for your world wide web connection and you’re ready to go.

Recordable HD-DVD are named from the similar way as DVD: HD-DVD-R (recordable) and HD-DVD-RW (rewritable).

MY HOME THEATER / DO YOU REALLY NEED TO PAY 2000-3000$ FOR A PROJECTOR

Thursday, May 20th, 2010

My first projector an Infocus X 6. Just after I compared projectors I went with this…. After looking at videos posted on youtube I did not regret my purchase. Why pay 2000$ just to get the movie experience. The movies has the same picture that I have, and by the way 2 – 3 years ago these specs on my projector got all you HIFI entusiasts crapping your pants. C’mon why pay that much when you get this with much lower price
