The first time my boyfriend and I decided to work on a new project in the house, I knew it would be a costly and time-consuming venture. He suggested it was high time we clean the loft (full of junk from his childhood) and turn it into a room reserved for movies. This increase would be complete with surround sound system 6:1, a digital HD projector and a custom-made screen. The challenge is that we work the construction from scratch, but building with no previous experience.
A word of warning before you consider working your own home, whether it is money that you try to save and you do not have the skills then it is probably worth seek the facts before you actually go ahead and start your work. One thing we found very difficult was learning to know our construction equipment for our electricity supply. Where were we to find wood cheap MDF and how were we going to plan this out?
We began by clearing the loft – keeping in mind that we started right after work one Friday evening and finished off a Sunday afternoon (just in time for our roast). I was quite surprised by how much junk we have accumulated over the years in a small room. Like many lofts, there were patches of old paper, clothing, suitcases, old documents, even unusable supplies power (fuses, plugs, multi-meters, the son chewed on). It was a jungle of pure junk that we had fortunately locked and sorted antiques useful in disposable waste.
The next thing we have not crossed the whole attic was to measure the room itself. It was found that the attic was bigger than I expected, and concluded that it would be ideal for a cinema. We made a plan of what the organization would loft. The best place we could think of inspiration is looking for other conversions loft online, read on forums and find useful information on ordering supplies. The advantage we had was that many of our friends were in the building, though some of them were able to acquire some good quality wood MDF at a discount price. However, for those who have no contacts know that some of the best providers known materials present good price ranges and offer a reasonably low price. Know what materials you need and the amount is a difficult decision. More often than not, you'll have more stock, but you can always sell the remaining wood.
As we started sawing and drilling, we realized that we had not considered the cost of electrical supplies. This is the most important construction process. As it was a movie theater we build, we need to know how we would all be replaced by a new wiring system. We took the step in the reading expert advice, looking at the various techniques and even approach people with experience. Finally, the time you spend on research will be extremely valuable when actually start to get stuck in.
After six full months of solid lumber, sanding, painting, pasting, moving the water tank, more sanding and even into the fitting plasterboard should be in the velux new laying carpets and ensure the lighting system and all other electrical systems were completed on the final product was amazing. The hard work we put in day and night, taking our time to seek and do not rush the process we gave extra meaning satisfaction.
